Our
Family Holidays
Over
the course of Todd's and my marriage we've gotten to travel from one end
of America to the other - and back again ... as well as going from side
to side. We have had lots of wonderful holidays with friends and families
and this is the place where I will tell you about those.
One
of our first holidays when we moved to Montana was to Canada. Since it
was only a few hours drive it was within easy access. Todd managed to
do a few air shows up there so he would fly up there and Timothy and I
would get to drive. We got to see lots of beautiful scenery on our drives.
About a year after we arrived in Montana Todd surprised Timothy and I
by taking us up to Banff. I had told Todd on many occasions that it was
a place I wanted to visit as I had seen so many lovely photos of it over
the years. We were driving to see Terry at Saskatchewan in Canada where
he was attending an air show, so we took the long way back home and dropped
into Banff. Here are some photos of our lovely two day stop-over there.
Lake Louise, Banff, Canada. I had
seen this amazing scenery in so many photos over the years, it was a dream
come to to see it in person. We got up at around 4am to get up there to
take photos of the sunrise. It was well worth the wait, even though it
was rather a cold morning.
Timothy and Todd with the Fairmont
Banff Springs Hotel in the background. If you're like me, you've seen
this hotel in so many photos before. We drove up to it (and around it),
but we didn't stay there as the rooms were rather small and just a tad
out of our budget!!
That's us with Lake Minnewanka behind
us. Lovely scenery, but the name did catch my attention. I'm assuming
there's a wonderful local meaning behind it. We got some nice family Christmas
card shots while we were there though.
Todd & Timothy at Lake Louise.
It was a dream come true for me to get to see the majesticness (is there
such a word?!) of this place after seeing so many photos of it over the
years!!
Looks
like Timothy's just about to go in and check out the temperature of the
water!!
